Baked Rice
Ingredients:
- 1 c rice
- 1 1/2 c boiling water
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cooking oil
For a larger batch,
- 3 c rice
- 4 1/2 c boiling water
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cooking oil
Process
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Start water boiling in teapot (electric or stovetop), microwave, or in a small pot on the stove
- Add dry rice to a baking dish with a tight-fitting lid
- Sprinkle rice with salt and drizzle oil overtop the rice
- Add boiling water to rice in baking dish
- Gently stir to mix
- Place lid on baking dish
- Bake at 375 degrees for 23-28 minutes for white rice or 40-50 minutes for brown rice
- When done, gently fluff with fork or spatula
